Of the 49 people killed in Colgan Flight 3407, Beverly Eckert was the grieving widow of Sean Rooney, a Buffalo native, who perished during the September 11 World Trade Center incident.
Fated aircraft which is 74-seat Q400 Bombardier Dash 8 turboprop commuter plane, operated by Colgan Air, met a bad luck during Friday the 13th. The Colgan flight 3407 were flying from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and preparing to land at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. It crashed in in Clarence Center, a suburb of Buffalo, New York with 48 passengers in flight dead plus one person did not make it on the crash site. Right now, the authorities are blaming the weather in this tragic incident.
It is sad news hearing the passing of Beverly Eckert as one of 49 victims. Just last week Beverly Eckert was at the White House with President Barack Obama. They were holding a meeting with the president. The relatives of those killed 2001 and the bombing of the USS Cole consulted them how the new administration should treat terror suspects. Beverly Eckert's companion as 9/11 activist is crying over the severe loss, by saying that "She [Eckert] was such an important part of all of our work".
