Hawaii Under Tsunami Threat - Tsunami Watch 09/29/09

Heightened alert in Hawaii has been released as a report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)on 8:57 AM today revealed that 8.3 magnitude earthquake has been identified with the Samoa Islands Region. Although a task force is still determining if the threat is ominous to coastal areas in Hawaii, the data that NOAA generated revealed that an earthquake that strong on the Richter scale can cause severe destruction even if the area is far off from its epicenter.

We can all just pray for Hawaii that they will be safe. The expected arrival of the tsunami, in case that happens, will be on 1:11 PM HST. NOAA will be releasing updates about the Hawaii Tsunami Watch every hour. Here's the NOAA report about the tsunami threat in Hawaii.

Hawaiian Airlines Takes Pride on their On-Time Flights

Hawaiian Airlines is an airline to beat in terms of its on-time flight arrivals. Scoring at an all-time high of 90.82 percent, Hawaiian Airlines garnered the top spot once again as United States' most on-time airline company from the 19 airline companies surveyed from a report made by U.S. Department of Transportation. The Business Review Albany also indicated that most airlines improved in their "on-time arrival rates" from 65.3 in December, 72.4 in January last year and presently it is now pegged at 77 percent.



Next to Hawaiian Airlines was Southwest Airline with 83.3, while a Delta Airline-managed Comair ranked last. Here's the complete list taken from Business Review Albany:
