Rhap Salazar in Ellen DeGeneres Show

Rhap Salazar may be following the footsteps of his friend Charice in their way to break Hollywood music scene with their music. Yes, the 12 year old Pinoy singer has been invited to guest in an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The famous TV show host expressed her amazement with the young Pinoy talent's vocal prowess that she wanted him to be in her show! Rhap is now in Los Angeles for his said guesting.

This guesting by Rhap Salazar in the Ellen DeGeneres Show is slated to be shown on November 17 in the the US. It is expected that this opportunity will surely propel his music career. It was also in this show that Charice got her big break when Ellen saw her Youtube video that showed her performing in the Korean TV show Star King. Ellen noticed Rhap's wonderful performance in the 13th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) where he emerged the Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World title. Rhap even garnered 4 other gold medals in the said event.

Charice on Oprah May 18 - Charice "If I Wrote a Note to God" Video

Filipina Youtube sensation Charice made waves in web search engines today as people sought after her video when she performed "If I Wrote a Note to God" in Oprah on May 18. "Note to God" was first sung by Jojo and produced by David Foster. Now, Charice has "If I Wrote a Note to God" in her first album.

Charice Wows Italy with Her Magical Voice

There's no stopping Charice in attaining her international stardom! Charice was invited at Rai Uno, a top Italian television network, to perform in a musical variety show "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" (I'm Leaving a Song for You). According to Wikipedia, "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" is not only a musical variety show, but it also "includes a competition between the most beloved songs in the history of Italian pop music". Seemingly, Charice is treated like an international diva as she was given a complete orchestra while she sang her jaw-dropping renditions of "I Will Always Love You," "Listen," and "I Have Nothing." But, the highlight of the "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" guesting was a duet with one of the show’s contestants, Gianluca Ginoble.

Will Charice Appear in the "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakel"?

In TV Patrol World, a news clip featured young diva Charice leaving for Hollywood as she is all set to do a "Hollywood film" she refused to reveal. However, Charice gave away a clue that the film will feature three animated characters. Of course, Alvin and the Chipmunks which grossed $358 million worldwide in 2007! Alvin and the Chipmunks will reportedly release a new film to be shown on December 25 2009 entitled Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakel.



The said Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakel will have Zachary Levi as the lead role emptied by Jason Lee. In this movie too, Alvin, Simon and Theodore will face off a singing girl group named "The Chippettes". Will Charice be one of the voices of the Chippettes? Or will Charice take on a real acting role in the movie itself? I am sure all Filipinos are proud of Charice's new feat. But before that, Charice will be busy too with David Foster and Friends Concert on April 25, 2009 at Foxwood Casino Connecticut and May 9, 2009 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

CHARICE To shine in ABS-CBN's Newest TFC Station ID

Charice is now back in the Philippines to accomplish some prior responsibilities she left after gracing the Academy Awards activities in the United States. Now, ABS-CBN commissioned the young diva to become the star of its newest TFC station ID to be shown soon. Charice will also have a series of shows while she's here. Charice will combine forces with Jay Cayuca this Satuday, March 7 at the Shangri-la Plaza Grand Atrium, Shangri-la Plaza Mall in EDSA. See video of TV Patrol interview with Charice after the jump.

Charice Meets Paris Hilton

The international Youtube singing sensation Charice mentioned that she met hotel heiress Paris Hilton at the Mr. Chow after party last Febrruary 22 . Charice just arrived last Sunday to do some prior shows here. Charice said that meeting Paris was her most unforgettable experience.



Much to her surprise, Charice expected that Paris will be as friendly to her. But it turned out that Paris Hilton saw her in Oprah and the heiress even took a picture of them together. Paris even joked that she wants to take Charice home because she looks like a doll.

When she first saw Hilton she initially thought that she was a snob. “Hindi pala. She’s very nice pala,” she said, adding that Hilton is more beautiful in person.

This was how Charice recounted their meeting: “Lumapit sa akin ‘yong PA (personal assistant) niya tapos sinabi, ‘have you met Paris?’ Sabi ko, ‘not yet.’ Tapos tinawag niya si Paris.

“Noong makita ako ni Paris nagulat siya. Tapos nalaman ko na napanood niya pala ako sa isang event at sa ‘Oprah.’ Nag-picture siya sa akin. Basta cute [na] cute siya sa akin. Gusto niya daw akong iuwi kasi para daw akong manika.

“Matangkad po kasi siya kaya mukha akong manika sa tingin n’ya.”

On February 23, the young diva also attended Oprah's after Oscar party at Kodak Theatre.

“Binigyan ako ng ticket sa Oprah so nanood ako. As in, nauuna pa akong nag-standing ovation noong tinawag ‘yong name ni Kate Winslet.

“Sa backstage ang super saya ko. Nandoon si Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz. Si Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) nandiyan siya pero siyempre best part pa din noong nagkita kami ni Ms. Oprah,” Charice said.

Charice, however, regretted that she was not able to take pictures of the Oscar winners.

“Ito ang nakakatawa. Hindi ko nakalimutang magpa-picture sa Oscar award (trophy) pero nakalimutan kong magpa-picture sa mga stars,” she said.

Charice also revealed that she will celebrate her 17th birthday on May 10 in a concert entitled “The Repeat: David Fosters & Friends,” at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Charice is even more excited that her album will already be released soon. Charice's wishes are all granted last year and now she is setting her eyes of earning a Grammy's. That could never be far for Charice because her single "Fingerprint" is already gaining raves around the United States.

Charice Performs Her First Ever US Single

Charice has been declared to be sure-fire "one of the world's biggest talents" next year. His mentor David Foster proudly announced that in the recently held Oscar's After Party held at Mr Chow in Los Angeles. The Youtube sensation Charice is not just up to make waves in 2009 but some Hollywood experts reveal that she is one of the hottest stars who will surely make it big this year. Along with Twilight star Robert Pattinson, Charice was hailed by veteran Hollywood columnist Liz Smith as the next red hot celebrities to watch out for in 2009.

In Fox channel's Lips and Ears, Liz enumerated the numerous accolades the diminutive Filipina girl with a spectacular voice has gathered in 2008. Her catapult from an ordinary girl to a worldwide sensation has won the hearts of everyone including Oprah Winfrey and Celine Dion. Another Glory for Charice

Young Filipina singing sensation Charice is set to share the limelight with the likes of Celine Dion, Kenny G., Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban via an album to be released on November 11 worldwide. The singers will have parts in the album of David Foster entitled "Hitman: David Foster & Friends."

Charice beams that she is exultant that she is a part of Mr. Foster's album. She's even surprised at the fact that all singers in the album are well-known in the international scene and she's part of that. To promote the album, Charice will also guest on "Good Morning America" and many other international television guestings to promote Foster's album. Source
