Matt Giraud April 21 "Staying Alive" - American Idol Giraud 4-21 Video

After being saved last week, Matt Giraud tries to redeem himself by singing a Bee Gees original "Staying Alive" as his American Idol April 21 (4/21) Disco Performance. Randy obviously did not like the song choice or arrangement at all, but he praised Matt's singing prowess. Kara thinks Matt brought Disco back, while Paula was happy they made Matt stay last week. Simon was not happy with Matt this week as he did not like the performance and it was not original while it came across as a "desperate" performance to hold him in the competition.

American Idol Results 4/15/09 - Matt Giraud Saved by the Judges!

There was a major shocker in American Idol Results show April 15 2009 (04/15/2009)! Matt Giraud was the lucky one to be saved after he got the LEAST number of votes in the Songs from the Cinema week! The other finalists in the Bottom 3 were Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds.

What do you think? Does Matt Giraud deserve his "save" prize from the judges? I think he's getting voted off anyway as Simon confirmed he has NO CHANCE of winning American Idol Season 8!

Matt Giraud "Part Time Lover" April 7 2009 American Idol Top 8

Matt Giraud got us a bluesy Stevie Wonder original "Part-Time Lover" in the American Idol Top 8 4/7/09 performance night. Although the comments for Matt Giraud from the judges were rushed, all of them were agreeing i unison that Matt performed well -- even Simon was pleased as he said "“A million times better than last week, well done.”

Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai will seem to have a battle for a spot later in the competition. Both of them have the same singing style. Here is Matt Giraud's Part-Time Lover April 7 Video:
