Sagwan and Walang Hanggang Paalam Gets X From MTRCB

Indie films Sagwan and Walang Hanggang Paalam received X ratings from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) anew rendering them unfit to be shown on regular screenings in all Philippine theaters.

Starring Joem Bascon (above photo), Jackie Woo and Lovi Poe, Walang Hanggang Paalam was supposed to have a premiere on February 8 and regular showings starting February 11. However, all these were canceled because of the provocative homosexual scenes in the movie between Jake Roxas and Rico Barrera.

On the other hand, Sagwan starring Ryan Dungo and Dennis Torres garnered a double X rating from MTRCB because of the several full frontal scenes found in the film. Sagwan is slated to be included in the Queeriosity Film Festival in February 11 at the Robinson's Indie Sine.

  1. Let's face it guys, the Philippines is still a Catholic country and as such, gay sex scenes are prohibited from being shown. People in the MTRCB are as hypocrite and perhaps more so, unrealistic. They are probably locked in the era where Filipino custom was "no touch". Everyone in the world knows what is happening in our country when it comes to gay sex but as long as it is not shown in the big screen, it is acceptable. The moment the truth is shown, it becomes unacceptable. Do it in the dark or in the privacy of your own home or in a motel or a toilet somewhere where no one knows but those who do it and it is okay. Sell yourself to somebody who can afford your price for a night of meaningless sex, be the person a foreigner or pinoy, it is ok. But it is not for public consumption. It is good that it is never encourage but it is bad not to acknowledge the truth. Furthermore, there is such a thing as "for adults only" or for mature audiences only. Again, let's face it...Filipinos are never adults or mature and are not allowed to see what they do. Ok lang may mabuntis o may mga lalaking nagsesex as long as they keep what happened to themselves. This is why artists are never artists but are more of prostitutes because they are never acknowledged for the roles they portray but they are criticised for doing the scenes as scenes are considered unwatchable. Sorry na lang sa inyo because most of you who live there and who have not seen or experienced adult life will always wonder what it is like to be treated as such.
