SQUARE OFF - Marian Rivera vs. Angel Locsin vs. Bea Alonzo vs. Anne Curtis

Marian, Angel, Bea and Anne - they are the hottest female stars with somewhat the same stellar status. I gained this idea of having these four promising young actresses in a  Square Off poll survey after Boy Abunda in SNN compared Bea Alonzo last night with her contemporaries Anne and Angel -- of course, Marian was not mentioned because she's from GMA. Let's admit, KC Concepcion and Sarah Geronimo have gone past their league because KC and Sarah have already proven their box office clout TWICE. Plus the fact that Sarah and KC could sing, while these four girls could not. This is why they have to rely on their acting skills and charisma alone, like Claudine and Judy Ann to attain superstardom. To put it bluntly, these four ladies are somewhat in the same footing with each other as to the "almost there" big star status -- but not quite.


Let me elaborate -- for example, Marian Rivera has had a string of number one prime time shows and commercial endorsements but her pull at the box office is still yet to be proven if the viewing public would pay real money to see her films. On the other hand, Bea Alonzo has not gone sexy, unlike the three other girls, but she already has one box office hit (One More Chance) under her belt. Anne Curtis has already one best actress trophy (Baler), yet she still also lacks the box office proof to make her at par with KC and Sarah. Lastly, Angel Locsin, like Marian, was the former Alpha Female of GMA before she left. Yet, the dismal performance of Love Me Again proves that she still needs to work it out in the box office. Who among them would transcend the stellar status of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto level after 4 to 5 more years? Who is just a passing fad and who among them can attain consistency and durability of a superstar? You can vote below:

Dingdong Dantes: "Dry and Dilapidated"?

While everybody is exhilarated in GMA that their current alpha male Dingdong Dantes is E!'s Third Sexiest Man in the World and was featured in AXN's The Duke, it seems everybody is not agreeing. Well, at least, the clothing company Bench is confident in hiring Dingdong to be the endorser of their underwear line (Bench Body).

Anyway, no doubt, Dingdong has emerged to become a hunk from a lanky teeny-bopper image when he was in Clickyears ago.


However, it seems Dingdong looks tired and haggard from everything. Now, he looks waaay older in their new series Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. Here's the same observation of a columnist who seems to hate Marian Rivera as well:

ang leading man niyang si Dingdong Dantes ay parang patang-pata na at tanders na ever. Hakhakhak!

Sina Piolo Pasucal at kahit ang buddy-buddy niyang si Paolo Contis ay workout beauties din, pero
they look positively gorgeous and fresh. Hakhakhak! But Dingdong is comparable to an almost
dilapidated bulding. Ang nakaka-tawa pa, one of the world's sexiest daw ang jowa (jowa na ano?
Magkapa-plastic pa ba? Ang portalet chuvanes ever! Hakhakhak!) ni Marianita, pero para siyang
lalaking alimango.

Okay naman ang upper part ng kanyang katawan, but sad to say, he's got chicken legs and his
butt is comparable to that of an old man. Hakhakhak! Sana, tigilan na niya ang pagda-diet na
'yan dahil it's not doing him any good. Also, at this point in his life, he needs to have a
regular facial treatment, for he's getting old before his time. Tuyot at panat na ang kanyang
balat, at very much wanting of freshness na.

Also, I strongly advise him to put a stop to this bodybuilding thing, for his body is not in the
least bit proportional to his legs and butt.

Sinungaling na nga at mahilig mag-deny, gayung huling-huli na. Hakhakhak! Puhleeeeze! Tama na!
Sukat na! Dati nga, sa Angeles na raw siya umu-uwi sa bahay naturalmente ni Antoinette Taus, pero
wala siyang inaming anuman sa kanilang relasyon.

Kaya may naniniwala pa ba sa mga bukeke niyang close lang daw sila ni Marian "Nega" Rivera?
Hakhakhak! Magtigilled! I don't think this guy deserves his fans' kind of adulation. Period!

There's a tinge of truth in there but obviously the writer is just too vibrantly exaggerated in his descriptions. I think Dingdong needs to take a break and freshen up a bit. In this way, his hard work would not show up in his face.

Marian Rivera - The Subject of Cristy Fermin's Demolition Job?

From accepting mother roles in GMA shows like Muli and Super Twins, Marian Rivera's stardom shot up that now she is GMA's hottest stars. To date, Marian Rivera is seen with Dingdong Dantes in Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, where she is Proserfina Valdez.

Aside from her successful television career, Marian has faced numerous setbacks in her personal life. Last year, she broke up with her boyfriend Ervic Vijandre. And just recently, she was rumored to be the cause of the Dingdong Dantes-Karylle break up.

Anyway, a week ago, it seems Cristy Fermin is having a grand time lambasting Marian in her blind items. One blind item stated that Marian's former classmates spilled the beans of how she is fond of copying from her seatmates during her student years, that she was older than what she reveals and she has attitude problems. And here's the latest:

Well, Cristy is not really a very credible source now. But I think Marian should defend herself from all these almost daily blind item courtesy of her current detractor Cristy Fermin.
