Justin Bieber in Christmas in Washington

Justin Bieber is considering himself lucky as he was finally able to meet President Barack Obama and family. Not only that, the 15 year old singer posed beside President Obama, his wife Michelle and his mentor Usher during the pre-taped "Christmas in Washington" concert where he was one of the performers.

With this experience, Justin Bieber proudly announced in his Twitter account that he's performing in Washington DC and he's "nervous" that if he messes up the Obamas might let him get deported to Canada. Of course, he's just kidding! Not only Usher and Justin performed there, artists like Rob Thomas, Neil Diamond, Mary J. Blige and Sugarland also sang for the Christmas special. Much to the delight of Obama daughters, Justin performed a classic Christmas song "Someday at Christmas. Also, host George Lopez took a punch line after introducing Justin. He said: "Like you, Mr. President, this young man has many fans trying to shake his hand without permission." If you want to watch this Christmas show, this be aired on TV December 20 at 8 PM ET/PT. This is actually a benefit concert that will seek support for the National Children's Medical Center. Below is a short clip of the Christmas in Washington with Justin Bieber with President Barack Obama:

Notre Dame Commencement Obama Asks to “Open Hearts” and “Open Minds”

Despite the protests that marred President Barack Obama's visit to the Notre Dame Commencement ceremony in Southbend, Indiana, he bravely faced the issues being thrown at him. The US president, who’s also being conferred with an honorary degree, told the Notre Dame graduates that “no matter how much we want to fudge it (the abortion policy debate)... the fact is that at some level, the views of the two camps are irreconcilable.” Instead, Obama suggested that we stop “reducing those with differing views to caricature. Open hearts. Open minds. Fair-minded words. It's a way of life that always has been the Notre Dame tradition.” Obama’s pro-choice abortion stance and the embryonic stem-cell research he supported in his administration are being magnified in the Notre Dame community, being the largest Catholic university in the United States.

The Associated Press reported that "at least 27 people were arrested on trespassing charges, even before Obama took the stage in the Notre Dame Commencement exercises. Twelve thousand people stood up and clapped as Obama entered the stage, but before he can speak “at least 3 protesters interrupted it”. Notre Dame president Rev. John Jenkins had good words to describe Obama as not being “someone who stops talking to those who disagree with him.” To read more about the Notre Dame Commencement 2009 details, visit this link.
