Danny Gokey is Out! It's Kris Allen vs Adam Lambert in the American Idol Finals Next Week!

After 88 million votes yesterday, Danny Gokey has finally given his goodbye kiss in American Idol Season 8. So next week it is we will see Adam Lambert and Kris Allen in the American Idol Top 2 Final Showdown for 2009! American Idol is really heating up and I don't know what will happen next week - I guess Kris is giving Adam a good fight. Oh they're former roommates and I guess they won't be mean to each other then... haha!

After winning a coin toss, Kris Allen has the option to choose to go first or last. Of course, Kris prefers Adam Lambert to go first. So we'll see Adam Lambert performing first on May 19!

Danny Gokey sang Terence Trent D'Arby original "Dance Little Sister" on the American Idol Top 3 May 12 (5/12/09). For his second song, Danny Gokey sang “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.

In Danny Gokey's Dance Little Sister, performance, there was a saxophone solo which Simon Cowell did not like. There's a little dancing too that was an issue for Kara DioGuardi. Watch the Danny Gokey's Dance Little Sister here later.

Danny Gokey April 21 "September" - American Idol Danny Gokey 4-21 performance video

Danny Gokey sang an Earth, Wind and Fire original "September" as his American Idol 04/21/09 Performance. Randy said Danny turned the song to work for him. Kara enthused that his pitch was marvelous. Paula also said she liked it and thought it was sexy. Simon negated them all saying that Danny was awkward and a bit clumsy.

Danny Gokey 4/14 "Endless Love" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Danny Gokey sang a Lionel Richie and Diana Ross duet "Endless Love" from the film of the same title in the American Idol 04/14/09 Performance. Sadly, not Danny's night tonight because he had some bad notes galore. Paula though that the key should have been made lower Simon voiced out that “We know you are a brilliant singer, but I’m disappointed that we had the harp on stage and a traditional version.” Simon though Danny was a poor David Cook wannabe who changed up a Lionel Richie song last year.

Danny Gokey "Stand By Me" April 7 American Idol Top 8 Performance

Danny Gokey sang Mickey Gilley's "Stand By Me" in the April 7 2009 (04-07-2009) "Songs the Year You Were Born" theme. Gokey's version is slowed up, jazzy type of rendition which the judges loved, although Randy did not like the arrangement. Simon Cowell stated that the middle part was "lazy". Overall, it was a good Danny Gokey performance tonight.

Danny Gokey - "What Hurts the Most" American Idol Top 9 March 31 Performance

Danny Gokey is in his element again this week when he sang "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts. The song is just reminiscent of all the loss he had -- first his wife and now his grandfather had passed away recently. See video after the jump.

Is it me or is Danny Gokey getting fat? I mean he's starting to get plump on the TV screen. Anyway, good week again for Danny and he's on top of all polls.

American Idol hopeful Danny Gokey "I Hope You Dance"

One of the front-runners of American Idol Season 8 Danny Gokey wowed the judges today in his rendition of "I Hope You Dance". Who sang "I Hope You Dance"? It's an original by Lee Ann Womack.

Danny Gokey was the guy who cried in the auditions in Kansas City because he just lost his wife that time. He is friends with Jamar Rogers. Both are rumored to be in the top 36 in the American Idol Season 8.
