Susan Boyle Wants to be a Boxer?

Youtube singing sensation Susan Boyle surely dreams to throw punches literally. Yes, you heard that right! The 48 year old British Got Talent star has taken up boxing as a hobby as she enrolled in a boxing gym in her hometown of Blackburn, Scotland. Reports say that Susan took a lot of stress from receiving worldwide fame. Friends recommended to her to take up boxing in order to keep her head straight.

When Susan Boyle put on boxing gloves and tried punching in a boxing gym, she instantly loved it! Before that, Susan is a self-professed boxing fan and never considered taking it up. In fact, one of her most favorite song is "Eye of the Tiger" which is from a boxing movie Rocky, which starred Sylvester Stallone. Ending up first runner up in this year's British Got Talent is not stopping Susan because her album entitled "I Dreamed A Dream" is expected to rock the song charts across the world. This boxing thing for Susan Boyle might just be the right stress reliever to combat the huge fame she's embroiled in. We just hope you won't give Manny Pacquiao a run for his money anytime soon.

Pacquiao vs. Hatton Fever Intensifies - HBO to Air Pacquiao-Hatton 24/7 Starting April 11

The Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton "Battle of the East and West" will air in HBO Pay-Per-View (PPV) on May 2 but the building of the hype for this bout starts this Saturday April 11. The Pacquiao-Hatton HBO 24/7 will be a documentary series to be shown every Saturday till May 1 - the eve of the Manny Pacquiao-Hatton bout. This documentary will feature how the two boxers are doing their intense training, their workout, the heckling of the two coaches... Of course, the usual drivel that would fire up the flames of the fans' excitement about the boxing match of their idols which will be held MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Manny Pacquiao To Be Knocked Out by Ricky Hatton Before Round 3?

The Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton bout would be boring if there's no exchange hecklings from both camps. It can be remembered that Pacquiao coach Freddie Roach boasted that Manny can render Ricky Hatton black and blue after Round 3, now Hatton coach Floyd Mayweather Sr. issued a rejoinder that Ricky can even do it before reaching Round 3. In an interview with Fighthype.com, the elder Mayweather quipped that Roach should get ready to be disappointed because "Hatton is going to stop Pacquiao… Ricky is coming to hurt this guy, man!"

The Pacquiao-Hatton will be dubbed as the "Battle of the East and West" slated on May 2 at the MGM Arena. Let's see who has more prophetic ability between Roach and Mayweather Sr. after the fight!

2009 Time 100 Finalists Out: Two Pinoys In (Manny Pacquiao and Pregnant Man Thomas Beatie)!

Time Magazine has once again rounded up their list of finalists for their 2009 Time 100 newsmakers. Jotting down the "world's most influential people in government, science, technology and the arts", Time came up with 203 finalists (comprised both the notorious and the heroic) which will be whittled down into 100 people through web votes. Two Filipinos are in the list -- Manny Pacquiao currently at #6 and Thomas Beatie (Tracy Lagundino) or more known as the "Pregnant Man" who is currently at #112.


Unless you've been living under a rock, you now know that Manny Pacquiao gained some media mileage after defeating Golden Boy Oscar dela Hoya. Time noted how Pinoys love Manny Pacquiao but we are turned off by his political ambitions. Ditto for Filipino-American Thomas Beatie (former Pinay Tracy Lagundino picture below). Transgendered Beatie gained notoriety after giving birth as a "man". However, Time lamented that thanks to Octo-mom Nadya Suleman, Beatie is now overshadowed by her as "America's strangest parent"!



Currently topping the Time 100 list are Rwandan president Paul Kagame, 4chan.org founder Moot (Christopher Poole) and Korean superstar Rain. Incidentally, Rain placed number two last year but he "has still not broken big in the United States", according to Time.



If you want to vote, you can visit the Time 100 website. Well, before voting for these Pinoys, you have to remind yourself that this is not "Vote for the Worst" contest, okay?

Juan Manuel Marquez made the ten years younger Juan Diaz fall to his knees in an unexpected knockout in the 9th round. In the Marquez vs Diaz fight, Juan Manuel Marquez predictably bagged the world lightweight boxing title in HBO Sports World Championship Boxing fight held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Although the fight was quite even in the first eight rounds, Marquez was intensely eager to show the world that he's still a contender for the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. It was March last year that Juan Manuel Marquez undertook a shameful defeat against Manny Pacquiao. Thus, MArquez really needs to win this bout to have a chance to face Manny again soon. Max Kellerman of HBO described Marquez vs Diaz as "a really good young fighter knocked out by a great old fighter", with this he quipped that Marquez "may be" the number 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. However, his co-commentator Jim Lampley revealed that Marquez is "sensational as any performance Manny Pacquiao has ever produced, for sure". However, Lampley still insists that Pacquiao is still the one to beat for Marquez.Let's just wait if when will Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez fight be in the future. We just hope the soonest because Marquez is definitely getting old!
