Sandara Park of 2NE1 Graces Star Magic Catalogue 2010

Sandara Park is indeed going places after slightly losing her shine years ago when Kim Chiu became ABS-CBN's "It" girl. With Hero Angeles exiled out of the TV station and her loveteam with Joseph Bitangcol going pfft! She chose to go back to Korea and try her luck again there. Now, look at Dara! She's regained her confidence because she and the Korean pop girl group 2NE1 are making waves al over the world.

The photo above is a photo of the ABS-CBN Star Magic Catalogue 2010. Maybe, Dara could not refuse her Kapamilya and deny them their request for her to grace their fabulous photoshoot. For many of 2NE1 fans, Dara is quite different as she is usually garbed in outlandish K-pop costumes and hairstyles. 2NE1 is now gearing up for the 2010 Asian Music Festival on September 19 and a new album is also on the works to be released on October this year. You can read more about Dara of 2NE1 in the Star Magic Catalogue on AllK-Pop.

Anne Curtis as Galema in ABS-CBN's "Anak ni Zuma"?

From a goddess to a snake queen -- that seems to be the fate of Anne Curtis as she is being tapped to play the lead role in Anak ni Zuma. In a Journal Online report, ABS-CBN has already brought the rights of Anak ni Zuma from its maker Jim Fernandez who's currently in the United States.
Anne Curtis as Galema in "Anak ni Zuma"
Zuma has been a popular comic character in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The intensity of its popularity propelled two Zuma movies in the 1980s. In the Anak ni Zuma sequel, Snooky Serna played the role of Galema, the daughter of Zuma. Many people are excited that Jim Fernandez gave the TV rights of the Anak ni Zuma to ABS-CBN.

In that same Journal Online report too, the article declared the Zuma maker Jim Fernandez is allegedly seeking legal action towards Zuma movie remake wherein Dingdong Dantes plays the title role and Carlo Maceda is one of the producers. It appears that the film rights for the Dingdong Dantes movie have not been ironed out yet. We hope this can be done immediately as the Zuma film is reportedly scheduled on December 2009 in time for the Metro Manila Film Festival!

Bebe Gandanghari Insinuates Ai-Ai is a Lesbian

Yesterday (February 24), an episode of Ruffa and Ai becomes too controversial when they guested Bebe Gandanghari (formerly known as Rustom Padilla). As usual, Bebe is in his naughty self. During the last interview with Ruffa Gutierrez in The Buzz, Bebe revealed that Ruffa and his brother Robin had a relationship before. Now, in this interview, Bebe insinuates that Ai-Ai delas Alas is a lesbian!

Watch this video and you'll see how Ai-Ai reacts to Bebe's rubbing it in that she's a lesbian. This gives credence to the rumors that Ai-Ai is allegedly involved with a lady director before. Here's the clip of the said interview:

Jommy Teotico Emerges as Pinoy Fear Factor El Ultimo Participante

After twenty million years of waiting for this ABS-CBN show to end, finally Pinoy Fear Factor had crowned the 24 year old Jommy Teotico as the El Ultimo Participante. Jommy snatched this title from Janna Dominguez in their last challenge which was Car Roll Over.

Last January rumors swirled that Janna was the winner in Pinoy Fear Factor. Obviously, the hearsays were wrong. Jommy, who seems to be one of the least liked contestant, was also previously rumored to be the third one voted out. Yet, Jommy rose from all the mediocre performances and held the flag of the Pump Squad up high.

I will try to post the video of the Ultimo Duelo later. But first, you should see Jommy's dancing prowess:

Showbiz News Ngayon: All Meat, No Fluff

Two days after the pilot of episode of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino's newest showbiz-oriented talk show, it is certainly hitting all the right marks to raise the bars of what entertainment shows should achieve. Getting the peg out of US show like E! News or Daily Ten, the viewers can enjoy all showbiz news without the hosts bugging you with their endorsements and greetings/gratitude to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Compared to The Buzz, Startalk and Showbiz Central, all these three shows are guilty of over-hyping their topics when in fact those are old news already (All that shouting in each gap to commercial annoys me: Susunod! Abangan!). It's a total waste of time, if you ask me! SNN hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda are acting like they are professional news anchors here. This approach gives a semblance of authority to them than what they regularly do in The Buzz.

Plus SNN's content is quite aggressive because they ask the most controversial questions without hesitation. The exclusives are such gems like the Willie Revillame interview and Nina's revelations. What is just disturbing is that some issues like stars flaunting on their most expensive bags and luxuries. I don't see anything wrong with it, but when majority of the land is in poverty... it seems not ethical to do that. Of course as Boy Abunda expressed that "luxury is the child of hard work", would it be more right to contribute to Bahay Kalinga to be able to build houses for the homeless rather than having a 1 million peso-worth hand bag? That's just a point to ponder, anyway.

All in all, SNN is off to a good start. It is up to them to maintain the impact of their new format. Of course, all the exclusives should be worth the wait amid all the teleseryes before it.

Ruffa Clarifies Her Side in The Buzz

Ruffa Gutierrez was visibly shocked when her pictures with a new guy spread like wildfire over the Internet. It was courtesy of Ricky Lo's column in the Philippine Star, which announced that a reliable source issued them a tip that a guy named John Faizad is interested in courting Ruffa.

It turned out that the guy was applying to be a model to Ruffa's friend. She clarified that she hardly knew the guy. Here's the video of Ruffa explaining her side over the issue:

KC - Piolo "Lover's in Paris" Fake Music Video

It's another case of uncontrollable over excitement and imagination rolled into one. Everybody's so excited that a creative fan chopped scenes from the Paris TV special of KC Concepcion and some parts of Piolo Pascual's movie Dreamboy and... voila! They labeled it the new music video of the upcoming teleserye in ABS-CBN - the Pinoy version of the hit Korean series Lover's in Paris.

Of course, this video had mixed reviews because KC still has a movie being shown with Richard Gutierrez. Recently, the GMA-Regal produced When I Met U received a Grade B from the Film Ratings Board (FRB), where the producers will have a 50 percent tax rebate. That's great news because it will invite more viewers to see the KC-Richard starrer because the FRB certified that it is a quality movie.

Piolo and KC rah-rah boys and girls will have to wait for KC Concepcion to finish the promo for When I Met U before they can indulge in their excitement for the ABS-CBN produced teleserye. You will have your turn eventually.

Here's the fake video of Lover's in Paris:

Ruffa Reveals Her Valentine's Date

After a nasty separation from husband Yilmaz Bektas, Ruffa Gutierrez has been seen dating a new guy in Los Angeles. His name is John Faizad, 30 years old with Polish-Persian-American descent. Faizad stands 6'2, which is just right for Ruffa who towers at 5'10. Although the guy is four years younger than Ruffa, it seems she is happy with dating with him.

This story has been initiated by Ricky Lo in his column in Philippine Star. Lo informed that an acquaintance introduced Ruffa and John in an event in Manila. John, who works in an entertainment consulting firm, could not contain his admiration for the mom of Lorin and Venice that he followed all the way to LA. Lo also revealed that "like Ruffa, he [John] just got out of a seven-year “committed” relationship and is, well, 'searching.' During a dinner with friends at Sky Car on Sunset Boulevard in L.A., John was 'over-protective' toward Ruffa".

What can we say? Everybody deserves to be happy, especially Ruffa who just survived a difficult storm in her personal life after the painful break-up with Yilmaz. Yet, Ruffa should focus more in arranging their divorce so that she can truly be free in finding another mate. Let's watch The Buzz this Sunday because I'm sure Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino will tease her for this. Also, Monday next week is the pilot airing of the newest morning tandem in ABS-CBN, which is Ruffa & Ai. Ruffa is also be seen regularly in I Love Betta La Fea.

Kian Kazemi Disappoints Cristine Reyes

Kian Kazemi has been in the news lately because he revealed to the press that he's courting Cristine Reyes. However, the rising young sexy actress did not like Kian's admission about sending flowers and cake to her. Cristine said that if Kian's intentions are for real, he doesn't have to file a press release about it.

Anyway, Kian is part of the Eva Fonda cast. He is also one of the trippers in the travel show Trip na Trip seen every Friday after Bandila. Aside from showbiz stints, Kian is also a budding businessman as he owns a Persian grill restaurant. From the looks of it, Kian has the body and looks to make it big in sexy movies. With a little workshop in acting, he can easily snag sexy roles in indie films. However, Kian says he's still not ready for sexy roles. We'll just have to wait for that, huh?

Yet Another Jake Cuenca Blind Item

There's no more denying that Jake Cuenca gets all the biggest roles among the numerous young actors in the stables of ABS-CBN. No wonder, the juicy projects he has achieved are kind of absurd to fathom for some. Let's all admit, Jake is not really as bankable like Gerald Anderson or as good acting-wise like John Lloyd Cruz. Why is he getting all the meat, while the rest like Sam Milby, Zanjoe Marudo and Piolo Pascual are eclipsed by him?

For one, as a newcomer from a rival network, he was given a title role in Palos opposite no less than Cesar Montano. That was a flop in viewer ratings, but he is still getting major projects. Another trail-blazing achievement is to be cast as the other leading man in the hottest love team in Philippine showbiz -- Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu. Not once, but twice -- in Sana Maulit Muli and the latest is Tayong Dalawa. Compared to other major actors like Piolo, he got to be paired with KC Conception first in the I am KC series. There are even bigger projects ahead of him, like the TV version of Nardong Putik.

Wow.. That may be the reason why his "success" is the subject of scrutiny. Like in this blind item:

Pete-Tik
‘Polka-dotted actor’ natalbugan ng ‘cock teaser’ newcomer by Pete Alpoquinto

Why is that so?

Ang totoo niyan, most young males in that network are envious of his enormous luck. But how did his winning streaks start?

Well, he was the featured guest in that fantaserye that served as the launching vehicle of this young actor who was then the flavor of the season of this in-fluencial gay executive.

At dahil sa ‘cock tea-ser’ ang young actor na kali-lipat lang noon from a rival network, kapag nagbibihis raw ito ay itinataon na nasa set ang vaklush na executive na na-turned-on naturalmen-te sa kanyang absolutely flawless skin tone at fairly, adequate (fairly adequate raw, o! Hahahahaha) bulge.

Hahahahahaha! Puhleezzzzeeeeeee!

Anyway, his good fortune was the polka-dotted actor’s funeral.

Hakhakhak!

On top of that, he’s got a gorgeous body that’s absolutely a joy to behold for its satiny feel. Hakhakhak!

Hahahahahahahairia! Puhleezzzeeeeee! Anyway, it was agonizing for the former lover of the gay executive.

Oras na may dumating na ‘bago’, siguradong relegated siya sa background for he’s not and will never be a John Lloyd Cruz or a Jericho Rosales.

He’s not even a Baron Geisler. Hahaha! Period. Walang comma!

The polka-dotted actor is clearly Matt Evans. After playing Pedro Penduko, where Jake is merely a support cast, Matt has no projects lately. To think, Matt has proven his bankability among the televiewers because Pedro Penduko was a big hit in terms of ratings. Where is Matt Evans now? He's moonlighting in ABC 5 to keep himself busy.
